LAM (Lille Métropole Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Art Brut)

In 2008, two years before its reopening, l'Initiative Philanthropique began to assisting LAM in achieving its goal of establishing the means for long-lasting patronage.

This mission’s goal was to revaloriser the role of the Business Circle and the Society of Friends of the Museum, to train the Museum’s own staff and to provide the institution with a clear position in terms of patronage, projects to support and an established chart of what donors would receive in return.

In order to complete this mission successfully, our philanthropy consultants started by performing an analysis of and a benchmark for the significant cultural options available in the region, in order to better comprehend the future museum’s position towards potential donors. They want on to raise awareness among the different players concerned and to accompany the museum’s staff (transmitting know-how, establishing a patronage offer, creating documents for outside communication that integrate the chart of what donors would receive in return, depending on the amount donated, and a typology of targets).

LAM now has an efficient and dynamic team and a clear patronage policy primed for development. As soon as it reopened, the museum received support from a number of patrons, and the number of members of the Business Circle both doubled and raised its fees.

Lastly, appropriating these new tools for local socio-economic decision-makers and for encouraging the development of a “virtuous circle” in terms of communication and patronage.
